Favourite car seat?

First time mom here 🙋 I'm only 4 weeks along but the hubby is super excited and wanting to start looking into some of the big essentials such as the car seat. Anyone have any good recommendations?

I love Britax. I have the B-agile stroller and the B-Safe 35 Infant Car seat. Now my daughter is in the Britax Boulevard Click Tight Convertible Car seat. I did excessive research on safety and read a ton of accident reports. What I really like about Britax is that they continually test the products and aren't afraid to issue recalls for parts. I've seen a lot of people say that car seats are all safe because they have to pass the same safety test, but there is definitely a big difference in safety if you do research. Also you need a good carrier, I highly recommend the Ergo 360 and the Fisher Price Rock'n Play Sleeper is a Lifesaver.

Graco snugride 35 travel system and now my son is in the Graco extend to fit. He will be one next week. My two older daughters were in all Grace seats also.

As a STM I highly recommend looking for a light car seat. I went with the nuna pipa this time around because I believe it's the lightest on the market. But make sure the car seat you choose is compatible with the stroller you select.

I suggest looking into a travel system for your infant car seat. Find a stroller you love, then see what car seats will fit into that stroller. The reason I suggest finding a stroller first is because the stroller will last you longer than an infant car seat, so you want to make sure you find a really good one that fits your lifestyle, and it would be a bummer if you found a car seat that didn't fit into your dream stroller.
For mid-range priced car seats I like the Chicco Keyfit30 because of its amazing safety ratings. The Chicco car seat fits in most mid-priced strollers that you'd find at Babies R Us because it's one of the most popular car seats on the market. On the higher end, the Nuna Pipa is an amazing infant car seat with organic, soft fabric and amazing safety features, such as a load leg. The Pipa fits in most higher-end strollers and is super convenient for carrying because it is one of the most light-weight car seats on the market. Both the Chicco Keyfit30 and the Nuna Pipa are amazing car seats, so you can't go wrong.
