Lately I've been wanting to try having an open relationship with my boyfriend, have any of you here had an open relationship or currently in one? What's your experience with it?

I was in a polyamorous relationship a couple years ago! It was the healthiest relationship I have ever been in. I was actually just talking about it with my sister yesterday and realized it was the only relationship I've ever had that didn't involve arguing. My partner and I never argued, never got in fights, never got upset with each other longer than a few minutes. And it's because of how purely honest it was. He taught me how to have an extremely honest and trusting relationship. If either of us had a problem, we said so, the other corrected their behavior, and it was never an issue again. It was a little tricky for me at first. He was polyamorous and in another relationship, it was my first time. He was very respectful of that and We eased into if gently. At first he didn't mention her much. Then as We built our relationship it became a lot easier to hear about her. I realised that he was making me happy. He made me feel good, and special, and important. When we were spending time together we were completely attentive and present. I realised rbag just because he was with this other woman, it didn't make his feelings for me any less real or special. We could give each other advice about the other people we were seeing. We spoke about it openly.  And just like we spoke about everything else openly. Honestly the hardest part about the relationship is some of my friends not respecting it and seeing it as a real relationship.

I am openly polyamourous.  I have been this way since meeting my husband.  Our only regret is that we got married in the first place.  We no longer feel insecure and don't believe in relationship hierarchy.  His gf is amazing!  They are great together.  She is everything that I am not so he has a balance in his life.

We would have, but it doesn't work. Because he is asexual and I am demisexual. So he doesn't want anyone and I only want him. 😂 Tho I am still considering it. Maybe I will find someone to play with (BDSM stuff) but without the intercourse.
