Has anyone ever banned there child's father from the hospital?

After 5 years me and my child's father are no longer together. He told me I should lose my baby and I haven't heard from him since I was about 3 months. At this point I'm not even sure if I'm going to give my daughter his last name . I've also thought about telling the nurses not to let him in when the baby is born . Has anyone else ever done this ?

You can. If you haven't heard from him in a few months, I'd say there's a good cha 've he won't know when you go into labor, and you may not have to worry about it anyways

If he has been as rude and disrespectful as your post indicates, you have every right to keep him away from your child. If he is not going to be a positive role model and will cause you more stress, Id say you're better off without. I see nothing wrong with keeping him out of your delivery space, and giving your daughter your last name. I wish my mom would've done so when I was born!

you do what makes you comfortable for you and your child, it sounds like he made it clear he doesn't want the child and if you feel threatened by him then ban him. you and your child's safety comes first

And tell the nurses you don't want him there and they won't let you. I let my nurses know I didn't want anyone but my ex SO in the room during pushing and they kicked everyone out for me so I wasn't the bad guy.

As long as you don't make it public knowledge on social media or tell people that would tell him when you go into labour, surely he won't know when anyway? But like others are saying, you can definitely request he isn't let in if he tries and give them a picture so they can refer to it in case.

You can, but you are going to start this off very badly. That's his child, whom he has a right to see. Trying to keep him out of his child's life because you are angry with him, will hurt your baby more than anything. It will also hurt you by the time he takes you to court for parental alienation.

I would not give the child his name at all. I would tell the nurses you don't want him in the room at all, it is your right as the patient. You need to do what's best for you, during labor and birth you'll want a quiet calm environment and it doesn't seem like him there will give it

you don't have to let him into your room. if you don't want him to come up to the hospital though, then I would t post it on social media when you're there. when at the hospital you can also request to be no info. Although at least at my hospital, that means after hours no one will be able to come up and see you. if you don't wanna take that step then just be honest with your nurses. tell them that you don't want him up there and have a code word with your nurse so that if he shows up or if things get out of control you can say the code word and the nurse will get security involved.
