Interview question?

My husband just had a interview for a really good job. It was a screening interview over the phone. There's a second interview, but my husband said that they said that they will let him know within a week if he got the second interview. I feel like that's a bad sign. I thought after the first interview they will automatically invite you to a second interview if they like you. Is that true? Maybe I'm worrying too much. Can he still be eligible for the second interview?

I'm a recruiter and after a phone interview we schedule second interviews. We never schedule the second interview right in the spot because we have to coordinate with various people's schedules. I wouldn't worry at all! If he doesn't hear anything in a week I would shoot the recruiter an email to touch base.

it's not a bad thing. my husband waited like a week or two before they called him for a 2nd interview where he works at now be patient and many blessings y'alls way.

My current job told me at the first interview i had the job but I still had to do a second one. I had to wait for them to call me and schedule it.

It's not necessarily bad. They may behave other candidates after your husband and they have to make a decision once all interviews are completed. Good Luck to him!

A lot of people apply to jobs, they have to go through all the applications before they decide who will move on to the next round. They're just being honest.

No not always at all. That must mean they have other candidates to interview before deciding who will go through to second interviews. If he was higher than their expectations and overall the perfect candidate they were looking for they would have likely put him straight through. I've had it both ways.

Not always, they may have several other people doing a first interview throughout this week and waiting to see who they like/ is qualified the most before they invite anybody back for a second interview. Try not to stress it too much
