shared credit card UPDATE

So my boyfriend and I have been thinking about sharing a credit card together. We are both in our early twenties and have good credit. We are thinking of getting engaged soon and I trust him with my life. Still, people (mostly family), have told me not to share a card until we're married and to be careful then. Mostly because when my parents got divorce my father screwed my mothers credit terribly. What are yalls opinions? I obviously trust him or I wouldn't be with him...but I don't want to get screwed either.

I want to thank y'all for your opinions because first and foremost, I agree with y'all about how horribly it can go. I've seen my own mom get screwed over. I don't ever think he'd do anything malicious but you just never really know what's going to happen. We shall wait😇 thanks again y'all💞
