My son got banned from the crib at daycare...that has plexiglass at the head and foot...because they caught him using the plexiglass side to climb out, and just about to throw himself over. He tried napping on a cot a couple of inches from the floor in the pm, but it was a fail.

I am not sure about what to do at home. He loves his crib, and with wooden slats, we might have some extra time. BUT...he is a big strong boy, and if he realizes that he can climb if he places his feet on the slats...we must do something.

Problem is that he is just under 11 months old. Can he handle a toddler bed, or mattress on the floor? Or will he just want to play? We had a space heater and light canceling blinds.....now what, once he has access to them..they have to be removed, but how do you get adequate light/temperature? He is very active and curious.
