So, I had my first OB appt. today and had a transvaginal ultrasound before seeing the doctor. I am 7 weeks 2 days pregnant with a EDD of 4/2/18. During the scan the tech mentioned that I had a cyst rupture on my left ovary. When I saw the doctor after he mentioned that it was my corpus luteum cyst and its job is to help sustain the baby until the placenta is fully functional. He said since it already ruptured( which we are assuming was a week or so ago because of sharp pains and spotting) he needed to check my progesterone levels to see if I need progesterone pills to sustain the pregnancy. This made me worried because this is my 5th pregnancy. I have 3 children and had one MC at 8 weeks ages ago and I never had a doctor express concern over my progesterone levels. Other than that he said baby looks healthy and heart rate was 161. Anyone had anything similar happen?
