uneven baby head???

Question

My baby is 7 weeks old and a couple weeks ago the dr said her left side looked slightly flat and to keep her on both sides evenly to prevent needing therapy or a helmet.

I think her right side looks more flat. But her head just isn't perfectly round. We lay her on both sides and she has good neck control both ways. Will her head start to find out as she gets older??

Babies heads are really soft, they compress with small (but consistent) amounts of pressures. Keep alternating what side her head is on to better distribute the pressures. Typically if you're rotating sides regularly the flat spots will fill in.

my doctor said the same thing about my little boy (he favored his left side, but had good neck movement/control). He'll be 4 months next week (so we have our well appointment) but his head did start to round out some more. I just did what the doctor asked and kept turning his head to the right when he slept. Eventually he started laying on the right on his own and now he tosses and turns so he's never on one side to long. I'm sure he still is flatter on the left than the right, but I'll find out next week
