help please

so me and my boyfriend usually have a lot of sex and we went a month or so without it, when we tried to it hurt around the hole but not like inside if that makes sense. (not an std we're both each other's first and only) he said i was wet so anyone know what it could be from? i'm freaking out cause the 2 times we tried it hurt around the hole but not enough to stop doing it.
