Baby names

My husband and I are trying to narrow down baby names. We haven't found out the gender yet, but would like to have something decided before hand. We have already decided on a baby girl name (koraleigh hazel) that was no problem for us. We have been tossing up names for a baby boy and have semi decided on malakai. Mostly because we love the name kai. We wanted something longer and to be able to give him the nickname kai, so that's how we settled on malakai. But when we started telling our close family what names we have being thinking about everyone we've spoke to has mentioned how malakai reminds them of an alien in a movie they've all seen. Long story short I don't want my child growing up and that be what he's referred to. Does anyone else think of that when they hear it? Also we are open to other names we can incorporate kai with! Thanks
