Me and my boyfriend want to try anal? We are very comfortable with each other and have done everything else. We have tried fingers up the bum. However he wants to give me anal, now I am scared abit of it hurting and the whole rumour of pooing. How can I prepare, shall I get a anal cream/spray/lube sort of things like the Ann summers anal play? And how do I make sure I don't poop? I know that sounds grim but I know a lot of people feel like they will and sometimes have. How will I be fully

When I prep for anal these are the steps I take, while it varies a bit person-to-person, these steps have never failed me.

1. Clean up by using the bathroom 1-2 hours before hand, if you want to be extra clean use a warm washcloth with water.

2. Use water-based lube. Some people don't like this and prefer silicon, but my preference is water-based.

3. Stretch and prep. The size you want to prep for is obviously dependant on your guy. Usually I do 2 fingers, but I'm also fairly experienced in anal so my prep is a shorter process. I recommend 3 fingers for beginners.

4. Communication. If you need him to add lube, slow down, give you a minute to adjust, etc you need to be vocal about it.

5. Relax. Whatever works for you, using a vibrator, breathing, etc you need to relax. Tensing the muscles will make it painful because they can't stretch to fit.

I personally don't do much prep. I always make sure I'm clean down there if I think there's a good chance we are gonna have sex (for us it's almost every morning). I also don't really plan it. I let my boyfriend know that if he's in the mood he can let me know and I'll tell him if it's not a good time. 
 
Basically for me it's a good time if I've pooped fairly recently and if I'm REALLY turned on. We typically start with vaginal sex. Unless I'm on my period and then it's heavy foreplay. I do have him use lube though. I never let the thought of it hurting go through my head, so I don't tense up. It's typically a little uncomfortable or painful for the first few thrusts and I have him go slow and easy at first. Then it feels really good and he goes to town. 
But we really only do this like once a month. He says he wouldn't enjoy it as much if we did anal more often because it would lose its novelty.
