Home birth midwife concerns?

Ok...I hired a home birth midwife thinking it would be an in depth relationship. We have had 2 appointments, I'm 20 weeks. Both appointments were only 30 minutes, she's only asked me "what's your diet like" with no more nutritional instruction than that. No blood tests. And one thing that concerned me a little was her Doppler doesn't read heart rate and she just counts in her head? Are these normal parts of the "hands off" approach? Or red flags?

Hey-- if you are having doubts and red flags go for another midwife. Seriously it's never too late to switch. You should feel comfortable and at home with your midwife

I’m sorry you went so long without a reply! I just joined this group. How did the rest of your pregnancy go? I’m halfway through my pregnancy now and I’ve seen my midwife every 4 weeks since 9 weeks, with bloodwork and ultrasounds (not in her office), it’ll switch to every 2 weeks at 28 weeks, then every week after 36 weeks. I’ve never had an appointment shorter than an hour, and I’ve had two that we’re pushing 2 hours. I hope your birth worked out the way you wanted!
