I need all the help I can get :(

My husbands parents just told us that his mom is leaving his dad. His dad is very upset but knows he will eventually be ok. My husband and I currently in Alaska, where he is stationed in the military. Ever since we got together we would be moving back to florida after his term is up (for opportunites, jobs, better living environment all together) and he never gave it a second thought- actually he insisted it was the best place for us to go. His father lives in PA, where we both grew up, that's why we know it's not a good place to go back to. Right after his dad called and told us the news he immidiately said "I have to move back to PA" completely disregarding everything we had planned and without asking for my opinion. We had a little blow out and he currently isn't speaking to me. I have tried to be supportive and tried to acknowledge his feelings but it's just not working. Is it wrong of me to think it's ridiculous that he could just give up everything because he thinks his dad needs him to hold his hand, i mean his dad is a grown man. I feel like every time somethig happens in his family, he tries to be the superhero and puts everything else to the side- including me. Is it wrong of me also to expect him to put us and our marriage above all else???!!!! Going crazy here because i dont know what to say to him next:(
