How long before you tried IVF?

What was your course? How long did you try clomid before you moved on to bigger measures?

Answer

We went straight to IVF, started at about 8 months TTC. I was diagnosed with PCOS in high school and after a few months off the pill my cycles were becoming increasingly irregular. My OBGYN did some blood tests and a saline sonogram and felt I needed to be referred to a fertility specialist because they believed I wasn't ovulating. Saw them at 7 months TTC and they confirmed I wasn't ovulating and would need to try medicated cycles with IUI and then if that didn't work, IVF. But prior to confirming my treatment plan, they also ran tests on my husband and found out he has very low morphology of his sperm, so IUI was off the table and IVF with ICSI was our only option. We just started shots for our second retrieval, as the results of the first were less than stellar.

We went straight to IVF, with no testing for blocked tubes, endo... FS said after 10 years of having no accidents there was an obvious problem and I'm not getter any younger! I feel like we should have tried IUI or less invasive treatments firsts, can't help but think it's all a money grab... but something is obviously wrong as even IVF isn't working. We've had 1st Fresh- chemical, followed by a FET PGS tested BFN, 2nd fresh - BFN. I have two more 5AA blastocyst in the freezer, but not willing to risk them until I get tested for NKC or autoimmune issues, which my FS is very skeptical and of. In the meantime, between cycles, we are trying naturally. It's amazing how little I knew about conception... so tracking ovulation and my cycle for the first time... they should teach that in school instead of how not to get pregnant!  Where are you at with it all?
