Spotting

I've been spotting off and on for about two weeks but it's been very minimal and only light pink to brown. Today I had a medium amount of bright red blood when I used the bathroom. No clots, no cramping, I'm 9w1d.. should I be terribly worried? I have my first appointment in a week, and pretty much have to wait till then to figure out what's going on. This is my second pregnancy and I never spotted with my first. Any ladies out there have a similar experience and have it turn out alright?
