Can newborns have nightmares?!
It frightens me that my two week old will cry out hysterically in the middle of her peaceful nap. Sometimes her arms will flail up as if something startled her and then she'll start crying (similar to when you dream about falling and then twitch in your sleep). Her crying is consolable and will calm down once she's picked up and rocked back to sleep. Is this normal? Does or has your newborn ever done this?
