trying to initiate sex

I'm a generally conservative person, yet my hubby has told me he would like me to initiate sex once in awhile. We have been married for a little over 1 month and I have been trying to do the initiating every now and then, but every time I get all sexy and actually try I don't even get a second glance. What am I doing wrong?
