My boyfriend and intimacy

So I lost my virginity about 2 months ago to my boyfriend of over 6 months. Since then things have been really rough between us. We fight so much and get on each other's nerves all the time. We've had so many talks about it and how things need to change if we're going to stay together. Do you think it would be wise to cut intimacy out of our relationship for now? I don't mean kissing or holding hands or things that are mostly innocent, I just mean things beyond that like sex.
