Outside baby shower in oct?

So I really want a BBQ baby shower in Oct but everyone saying it's going to be to cold outside . We live in NYC and I personally don't think it'll be so cold that ppl would need coats. What do you other expecting mommys think? Think it'll be too cold? Is it worth it? input would be appreciated but keep ya dum comments to ya self

I live in CT and the weather in October is so unpredictable. You'd have to wait and see and plan for in indoor option just in case. We've had snow in October a couple years back and a hurricane so you never know

I live about a hour from NYC and my shower is Oct 21 and I wanted one outside too. but the weather here in ny is so mixed that it could be really cold or really hot. so just to make sure that everyone including myself is comfortable it'll be inside. 
why not try having a shower where someone can cook a bbq and you can have the shower inside. like just cook outside

Maybe look for a place that is indoor and outdoor, so if people get uncomfortable they can go inside? You can still grill and BBQ and people will go between indoor and outdoors, but some things may be more comfortable to do inside, such as opening gifts. I understand the appeal though because outdoors can just be so much fun!

Can you move it up any earlier? I'm having my baby shower in mid September at a park since we have a ton of friends & family. It's an early baby shower but we also want it outside due to the number of people we're inviting

I live in Rhode Island and the weather is similar . My baby shower is also in October and I would love to have outside but I think it's hard to know what weather could be. It could be 80 or it could be 40. A year ago we went to an outdoor wedding in October and it was freezing and people were so uncomfortable. I would say maybe early October or maybe have a tent?
