Gender Reveal/Baby Shower

Has anyone had a Gender Reveal and a Baby shower? I'm not too fond of the gender reveal party (hubby wants it) but I do want to have a Baby shower with very close family and my best friends since this is our last baby. We will find the gender out around Christmas which isnt a good time for a party. Our baby is due at the end of April and cannot have a shower/sprinkle in March because there's a birthday party every weekend. I think we'd need to do the shower/sprinkle in February but Having two "get togethers" so close just seems wrong. I'd love some advice! I honestly wish we could just find out the gender early and announce it at thanksgiving since we'll be with everyone already plus its mine and my husbands 30 birthday.
