Car seat?

Question

When do I switch from an infant carrier to a seat? What do I buy next?
Son is 5 months and is like 15 lbs

Look at the height and weight restrictions. I'm assuming head control is not an issue.

My infant carrier was up to 35lbs. I just took my son out of his recently and he's a year and a half. He's only like 21lbs though.

Look at the infant car seat owner's manual. Mine is up to 34 pounds OR 30" (I think), and the baby's grad has to be at least 1 inch below the top of the seat. I have friends that say their babies hated the infant car seat and switched to a convertible by 8 or 9 months. I'm hoping to get a least a year out of ours because I splurged on a Cybex Cloud Q 😳.

When you are ready to switch , and you can at any point. (We did at 7 months - she was too much to carry around anymore. ) you will buy a convertible seat - this is a seat that can both rearface and then when the time comes (recommended at least the age of 2) it will forward face as well. Some popular options are the graco extendtofit and the graco forever. There are many other options too - both cheaper and more expensive. Take a walk down the car seat aisle at target or Walmart and check out some options and read the info on their limits and stuff.
