How did your VBAC effort (or your friend's) end?

Question

By "big problems" I mean uterine rupture, death, injury, or any lasting kind of damage to mom or baby.
I ask because I really want a VBAC !! 
But I am a bit put off by the whole "small risk of uterine rupture" situation .......
Do you have any experience or know anyone who does?
Would love to hear your thoughts or advice!!

I had my daughter by emergency csection and she was born not breathing after a brief stay in the nicu she's doing phenomenal but due to that I have found support in fellow parents who had a child born not breathing and in similar circumstances. I have met many moms in that group who had tried for a vbac and ended up with a uterine rupture as the cause for their child born not breathing. I know the risk is sooo small but it is possible and by the time it occurs it's too late. My doctor told me 2 years and the risk is down drastically. Nothing against those who want to try for a vbac but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Sorry for such a negative view but it's just from my personal experience. I would definitely talk to your doctor and how confident they feel a vbac would be successful, some doctors will not even attempt as their malpractice insurance won't allow them to do so.
