Living with a parent or in-law?!

So me, my husband, and 9 mo are currently living in a condo (renting) while we save up for our dream 'starter' home. My MIL is in the midst of moving near us and buying a home, and has offered to look for a home with space for us. Her thinking was we could save up even more over the next year for a nice sized down payment, which I thought was BEYOND thoughtful. It's expensive to buy a home here, but this is the town we are staying in to raise LO. 
SO my question is- has anyone done this/is currently living with a parent or in-law? How is it working out with a baby? Any pro's and con's you have found? Any info you can offer is greatly appreciated!

My husband and I have lived with his parents or my parents for the last year. We made an unexpected move after we found out we were expecting, and it happened so close to my due date that I didn't want to find a job and have to leave two months in (with no mat leave either😕). My in-laws offered to let us stay with them while we saved up money to buy a home. Then I got a job on the other side of the state (which is where we truly want to live/where my family lives). My husband had to finish out his contract, and stayed with his parents. I moved in with mine and started my new job. My husband just now moved back, and we are now in the starting process of finding a home. 
Living with them has been extremely challenging for us for so many reasons, but it has been worth it. 
1) Setting boundaries in the very beginning is extremely important. I didn't do it at first, and my MIL would try to come downstairs to our living area every night when she got home and grab my baby for "grandma time". While this is sweet, and I want her to have time with my daughter...ten minutes after my husband came home, and an hour nap on my couch (every single night😑) with my baby was NOT ok for me. After I started bringing my daughter upstairs to their area so they got a visit without coming downstairs helped a ton. I could leave whenever I was ready instead of kicking them out. 
2) my husband is an amazing father and husband, but living with his parents again seemed to make him revert back to his old stage of living at home...he would just let his mom do everything for him just like the old days. Make sure you're on the same page about what your roles and responsibilities in the home are.
3) if you have to share areas (kitchen/bathroom) it can get tough. Make sure there is an understanding of who is cooking/buying stuff. Decide if you will be doing your own meals or sharing meals. If you have separate groceries or pitch in on them together. Figure out each other's shower schedule and plan accordingly.
4) I always feel like I have to keep everything immaculate...even though I have a child and work full time, and would prefer to clean on my own schedule, it feels like I need to have everything in place all the time. Even though we are really welcome and close with our families, it still never felt like our own space. I feel like I'm invading on them and it can be tough at times.
5) even the most respectful family members can't seem to avoid giving unsolicited advice when you live with them...my mom and my MIL both respect me and my parenting skills...however, they are unable to keep their thoughts on how I should feed my daughter, why is isn't sleeping at night (" just give her rice cereal...then she will sleep" 🙄 "she can't really eat that, can she? She doesn't even have teeth" #BLWproblems)
I'm sure not everyone has these problems, but this is what I've encountered. My biggest suggestion is to set boundaries, set a timeline for moving out, and have extremely strong communication with your husband. That is the only reason we have not gone insane during this...i always bring it to his attention asap when I feel something between us/his family/my family isn't going well. All in all it has been worth it...but I'm SOOO ready to get out of here! Good luck with everything!

I did it when my boys were babies (they're 9 & 10 now). We lived with my mom. For me it was perfect. We gave my mom money towards rent but we were able to save to move out on our own. We lived with her for about 2 years. 
I think it depends on how your in-laws are. My mom knew her boundaries. She would help out only when I asked (but with my husband she always helped without asking lol). I loved this because it taught me to actually raise them without expecting help, which was good when we moved out. If I had to go to the supermarket or for a run/the gym she'd watch them, that made life so much easier.
She would say things here and there but when I would say something to her she would stop and respect what I said. Now if we lived with my in-laws I know it wouldn't have worked the same way. My MIL can be overbearing and she has the mentality of "at grandma's you guys don't have to follow mommy & daddy's rules", she has literally said that. I've resigned myself and stopped getting angry since we go over a few times a month. But if we lived with her I know it would be a constant battle. We've found out years later stuff that we specifically said not to give or do, that they've done it. My FIL always has something to say (he's not very PC) and makes fun of the fact that we try to eat healthy. Basically they do what they want.
I know you've said before that you had problems with your MIL when it came to feeding (or was it your mom?). I think you need to establish rules since you're living with them and be clear about it.

My husband, my 9 month old and I are staying with my parents and it's not bad. Everybody has there own schedules so we don't bother each other much. It does suck trying to fit all our stuff in our room tho

We are living with my parents to save money until we can buy a house. It sucks because we don't have our own space but we are able to save quite a bit of money.

I have been living with my boyfriends parents since the baby was born. It's hard at times because they have definitely taken on a parental role towards me, and it makes me feel like I don't have control over anything. I love them though, and they aren't even home often. We just can't afford to buy a home yet or rent (2 bedroom appartment here is $2,000+ a month.) 
So we've been living with them and honestly it's been really nice because when they are home they're always willing to watch the baby so I can shower or take a nap or something, it's nice to have other people there to entertain her, and they're almost always willing to babysit lol. But that's just been my experience
