Working out and loosing weight

I'm at the point where I am sick of feeling self conscious. I want to be able to run and not feel like absolute crap afterwords but I don't wanna beat up my body. I'm 5'3 and 180 lbs I wear a size 13 in jeans and usually a medium shirts. I'm still in high school I know i'm not the smallest person in school and i'm definitely not the biggest but I want to be smaller without being too small. I'm not sure why i'm posting this but I feel like if I write it out and post it i'll stick to it more because it's just not myself who knows what I want. Wish me luck i've got a 7am workout!
