Who buys the condoms?

My boyfriend and I have been almost dating a year now. Typically, he buys the condoms and i get birth control.

We used up the condoms and have been having unprotected sex which he explains multiple times he doesn't want to do, yet we still do it. I figured since it had been a month since we ran out- and to ease our minds, I bought some. (The kind he uses).

He got all upset and won't tell me why but just that "I won't use them. Return them". Is it pride or am I missing something? I didn't mean to offend him but he worries about me getting pregnant and since it takes two to tango, I didn't think it was a negative thing.
