TTC Struggle

Jaks • TTC since 2016. Had my Rainbow 🌈 in May of 21’. TTC again after Christmas

My husband and decided after 2 years of marriage, it was a good a time as any to start family. I stopped/removed nuvaring and never put it back in.

The struggle began, first cycle came and went, my headaches and migraines birth control was holding at bay resurfaced, after a talk with my doctor I started Propanalol, a beta blocker, it helped somewhat, but I seemed to have side effects, first two weeks my boobs hurt BAD, and my period went MIA for 3 months.

I weaned off the meds, while waiting to see if I would get a positive pregnancy test, because you can't take Propanalol while pregnant, but my periods returned.

I started Propanalol again and HUH my periods went MIA again along with two weeks of sore boobs, and no positive ovulation tests or pregnancy tests.

When my periods were not arriving, I struggled again for a few months, and this past July started seeing my Ob-Gyn about the problems.

Did some tests, got diagnosed with PCOS. She didn't think the meds were related, it's not listed at all under side-effects, but I weaned off them again, and low and behold, my periods have returned!

If I continue to have issues with my periods and ovulation I'll be starting Clomid, but as I had a good period this month and positive ovulation tests, things are looking up.

It was certainly a stressful 10 months wondering what in the world was wrong with me having no periods or ovulating, and I'm really inclined to blame the Propanalol despite there not being any listed side-effects for obstructing menstrual cycles.

Hopefully we'll welcome baby #1 at some point! Here's to TTC.
