Cat allergy!!!?

I'm not sure where to put this so I'll just put it here and hope for answers lol. I have a cat allergy but I want to adopt one. Every time I'm around a cat my throat feels like it's closing and I start sneezing and coughing! Is there any medicine I can take for a cat allergy? I love cats

Allergy shots saved my life. I have severe allergies to ANYTHING with fur, and everything outside lol. I have 2 cats and a dog now 😊 ALL short haired though!

Allergy shots help a lot!! I'm allergic to cats, too and I used to go get 2 little injections a week (I can't now because the closest place to get them was about 45min away). But they really helped! I've been off of them for a few months now and instead of my usual reaction I would get before I started the injections, I just get small reaction. Like instead of my face swelling and itching I just get an itchy nose and sneeze a little, but it's not a huge deal.

Allerpet cat dander remover works really well for my bf who's allergic to my cat, all you have to do is use a cloth to apply it to your cat on a regular basis. Also if you have a vacuum make sure it has a HEPA filter so that it doesn't circulate the cat dander around your house. Same goes for the air filter in your house, try one that's made for allergens. Good luck!!

It depends on if you want one that makes you drowsy or not, I use their tech nondrowsy. But I've also taken ephedrine for more severe allergies. But it makes me so loopy and sleepy- can't drive or anything
