Are we ready to have a baby?

My husband and I have been together for about 8 years, married for about three months now. We have been really talking about having kids a lot lately. We are one of the first out of our friends to get married ( I am 24, he is 25) and our friends think we're crazy to be thinking kids already. We were so completely set and thought we were ready to start trying, but hearing everyone's doubts that were too young or we should be "enjoying married life" has really put up a mental block for both of us. I'm just looking for some third party input because I feel so lost now! I know that it's our lives and other people's thoughts shouldn't matter, but they have really made me doubt myself. #help

Its not too early at all, some people mentally arent at your maturity level and thats ok! If you guys have been together 8 years and youre in your mid twenties then you are fine! Im 23 and will be 24 in January and I see no problem with the age! You do what makes you happy!

You probably already know this somewhere in your mind, but nobody else can tell you if you're ready or not. Nobody knows your relationship more than you and your husband. Your friends opinions, wether asked or not, are pretty invalid. It's always fine to get a second opinion but that doesn't mean you have to take it to heart. If you truly want to be parents, then you'll make that decision between you and your partner. No one else can make that call for you. 
Also, no ones ever truly ready to have a baby. You'll never be fully prepared for it. Doesn't matter how many books you read or how many classes you take or how much advice you hear. Once you live it, it's a whole other ball game. Good luck!

I'm torn about this. I think for sure you should do what is right for you and your relationship. Those doubters aren't going to be raising your kids you are. Also, our baby seriously enriched our lives and love as a family. 
That said, my husband and I were together for 5 years before we got married. I was 25 when we tied the knot. We waited another 4 years before I got pregnant at 29. We did a lot of traveling before hand, bought our house, I started a business etc. the minute we had our baby our whole world was/is about her. It was really super helpful to have girlfriends my age who were also having kids and we've formed a mom group. 
You don't need to do any of the above to have a happy family but I will say that I didn't realize things would never be like they were before kids. It's not a bad thing it's just different. We can't just decide to do sporadic things anymore. Everything needs planning. 
Also, when we first had her there was definitely some tension between my husband and me. The shift of becoming parents was tough at first because we were tired and clueless. It all worked itself out BUT we still went through it. 
I'd suggest maybe being married for a full year before getting pregnant. Ultimately though you know your relationship and your goals better than anyone else. Do you!
