baby shower anyone????

I'm so stressed thinking of a babyshower but acting like I don't care I'm worried not to have one since no family is around I'm a stay at home no friends and well my husband only works with other guys.... I'm 23weeks and announced my pregnancy the day my aunt died I had no idea being far away and my family's tradition is to not celebrate up to 2 years after a death.....

You don't have to have a baby shower if you don't want one. I just don't like showers in general or being center of attention. I did a welcome baby gathering at my house after baby was born, most people brought gifts.

I completely understand! How far along are you? I'm in the same boat. We moved a year ago, and we have absolutely no family nearby. 16 hrs driving is the closest. And I'm a grad student, been at this program for a year, and I don't expect any of my fellow grad students to throw one; I doubt any of them know the first thing about a baby shower as none of them are even thinking about kids. So I'm afraid no one will throw me one either, and like you said, I don't want seem like I care, but I kinda do... it's special... I'm only 20 weeks, so there's some time I guess. I hope we both find an awesome friend to throw us one!

Try making a registry, and see if your family will just mail things? It probably won't be the same as a actual baby shower, but it will be something. Or make plans to have one where your family is, if you can

I have a friend that had a shower for her with her first but for her second she threw one for her husband and invited his male friends and family to it. It was successful and he truly appreciated what she did for him with their new edition. Men bring gifts too!!  Probably more cash than anything though. Be creative. :-).
