induction advice?

ill be 40 + 2 at my next OB appointment and my dr keeps pushing to do a sweep but im only 1.5cm at the moment. if i haven't made any progress can i refuse the sweep and ask to wait a week before trying anything? id rather just schedule an induction after waiting till 41 weeks and try cervidil than have a sweep. i just don't think it'll do anything but hurt and im already having false labor pains every day with little to no progress on my dialation it seems. :(
