are we safe from gastro bug?

my babies were around their 4yo cousin 48 hours ago and they were all together sharing cups and eating together.... ok but this was 48 hours ago ... now the 4yo has started vomiting with this stomach bug thats doing the rounds .... anywho because it was 48 hours before symptoms started should my kids be ok or will we all end up with it now

The stomach flu is highly contagious. It doesn't matter that it's been 48 hours later, your kids have already been exposed. I'm not saying they're going to get it but I'm also not saying they are but there's definitely a higher risk of them getting it.

I was around kids with the stomach bug and I thought I skipped out on it and it took two days before I had symptoms and I had never been so sick in my life. The couple I was with, she got sick same day as me but her hubby took a third day before he had it

You are often contagious upto a week or two before you notice symptoms (depending on what) stomach bugs are very contagious and the 4yo would have had the bug 48 hours prior but have only just shown the symptoms of it so yes your kids are still at risk for getting it
