Teacher with a Cold due Sept.26th
I'm 36w4d pregnant and went back to school with my kiddos. I have 22 7/8 year olds, three with severe disabilities, and one TSS until I get the one or two more that were supposed to start school with their clients and never did. I have never had a class needing this much attention. They're all sweet kids but very demanding. I'm trying to differentiate instruction for them while reworking all the plans I originally had ready for my sub because they just aren't ready like my previous classes were to do that level of work. I'm putting in 9-10 hour days and have spent three hours this morning just doing grading. I'm soooo ready to go on maternity leave. Anyway, a hazard with working with my lovely little ones is germs. I developed a nasty cold and they always last about two weeks. I'm not due until Sept. 26th but these cramps and BH contractions are making me wonder if he'll be here early. I know I'm run down and that's not good but I can't really help it right now without not doing my job right. What happens if I have a cold when the baby is born? This might sound dumb but will they want me to not be holding him a lot? I don't want him to get sick that little but the idea that I'll have a newborn I can't love on makes me sick to my stomach. With the whole fourth trimester thing, I planned to cuddle and love the heck out my little guy.
