So is eating sushi bad for you?🤔🤔Like one roll?🤔🤔🤔 The sushi roll I used to get before I got pregnant is called shrimp avocado.. comes with seaweed, cooked shrimp, avocado and white rice. Is the seaweed bad during pregnancy? If eaten in moderation of course. I want answers from moms not new mothers to be.. because they have experience of course and have more knowledge. Sorry ladies.

The issue with sushi is more about it containing raw fish. If the roll you like has cooked fish/shrimp you're fine :) you're also fine with a veggie roll (like seaweed, rice and cucumber only for example. I like the get the spicy mayo with it.) I would have them all the time with my first and am having them now with my second pregnancy.

ate sushi my whole pregnancy, both cooked and raw lol. most people are worried about the ones with raw fish not the seaweed. I only ate it from reputable sources.

If you make the sushi roll yourself it should be fine, but there are always risks eating sushi at a restaurant. In all of my experiences with sushi, all of the rolls are assembled on one long cutting board, so if one item is contaminated there is a risk that every roll made after that could be contaminated, even if it was cooked. For example, if you rubbed raw chicken all over your cooked steak you could get salmonella. Same goes for sushi. There are all kinds of viruses, bacteria, and parasites in and on raw fish and veggies. Another issue is the mercury levels in sushi, but shrimp is definitely a safer choice. These risks apply to anyone eating sushi, not just pregnant women, although a fetus is definitely more delicate. I loooooove sushi, but I've given it up during this pregnancy. It's on my list of things I want my hubby to buy me after labor, along with wine lol!

It's safe if they avoid cross contamination. I would stress you can not have any raw fish at all. If they will use a brand new knife and board and switch out their gloves you can eat it since it's safe items.

If everything is cooked then yes it's okay. One small roll is okay but do not eat it all the time.

As long as the seafood is cooked you should be fine from what I understand. You can always ask your doctor to be sure 😊
