IS IT A PROBLEM IF YOU BF IS SHORTER THAN YOU?

So, my boyfriend and I have been dating for 9 months, and since the first day everyone kinda made fun of me for dating him because hes shorter than me, but I don't really see that as a problem, people keeps telling me to break up with him, but I don't want to, because I really LOVE HIM, I don't like someone else. My question is "Is it THAT bad to date a guy who is shorter than you?"
