What should the legal drinking age be?

When should people be able to legally drink? Should the age change with parental consent, or when on private property?

I always change my mind on this topic. On one hand a brain isn't mature until 25, so I think that age would make the most sense from a development stance. On the other hand, learning to drink responsibly was something I learned at home far before I was 16.

I think there was like a study about this, in other countries where the drinking age is like 16-18 there's way less alcohol abuse and drunk driving and everything, because it's not something huge like America makes it out to be. It also makes sense too, because 16 is around the time that teens get interested in drinking, and in America they have to illegally find a way to get it, and they hide it from their parents, making it way more dangerous than it needs to be, and in other countries there's not problems because nobody cares, they're allowed to drink 🤷🏼‍♀️

If we're not gonna let ADULTS drink until age of 21, then the age of being an adult SHOULD BE 21!

16 numbers don’t lie. Countries that have a lower legal age for alcohol have less consumption. I know it sounds scary and insane to allow a 16 year old to drink but underage drinking happens due to curiosity and taboo. Take that away and the interest goes.

What I don't get is that in the US u r an adult at 18, yet u can't drink until 21? I think the age u become an adult and the drinking age should match. Most teens start at 16-17 anyways , sometimes younger.

If I had it my way, I would rather it be older than 21. BUT that is very unreasonable to ask for in an age like this so I stand by 21.
