My son, Jace Maverick Pena, was born 6weeks early via emergency csection
My son, Jace Maverick Pena, was born 6weeks early via emergency csection. I had preeclampsia and it was getting increasingly worse and worse. My liver enzyme levels and kidney protein levels were climbing dangerously high. I really wanted a vaginal birth at full term, a csection scared the heck out of me! Having a preemie at 34 weeks scared the heck out of me even more!! I was told that my chance of having serious complications or the baby suffering/dieing was high if I didn't have the surgery now. So I did it. It was the best worst day of my life. I was so scared and shaking like a leaf. But now I have my precious son. The doctors and nurses took such good care of us and my son did very well in the NICU. It's almost as if he knew he would be coming early and prepared himself for it. He had a good birth weight for his age, 6lbs 6oz, and was 19 inches long! He also didn't need help breathing or any major surgeries. All he needed was help eating via a feeding tube because he was so tired and couldn't finish a full bottle or breast feed. He was also tongue tied which contributed to his eating issues. That was a simple fix, they just clipped away the extra tissue.
Jace is 4 weeks old now, I'm 2 weeks from my original due date. I couldn't imagine still being pregnant. I am so glad that I have had him these past 4 weeks. He is so so precious.
