UK mamas i have booking questions

hi mamas,

I'm going to be a first time mama and I am very confused how the booking system works. I went to my GP and then had an appointment with the midwife that was a bit rushed as she took a break t long to get all the info and now I have no idea if I should be booking my first scan (I'm 10w2d) or if I should expect a letter with an appointment for the first scan. I'm not sure if it makes a difference on location but I'm in Maidstone Kent.
