Ignorance

My rant:

It really bothers me that we literally have a plethora of information available at our fingertips. We are the first generations to be able to just access whatever we need or want within seconds. Unfortunately, too many are so set in their little box that they are unwilling or unable to identify and sort legit information from fake and won't even seek out something that is opposing to their views. Willful ignorance is not an excuse! These people choose not to broaden their spectrum because they fear being wrong and if verifiable information is presented they chose to cover their ears, eyes, and close off their mind like a child. We are taught how to identify and seek out these sources for what we want or need to know in middle school, for some sooner! There's a reason the US isn't even near the top for education compared to other first world countries. The information is out there and you don't need a degree or high IQ to access it. There is absolutely no excuse for willful ignorance in this day and age. Hell, I used Google several times while writing this. It's not that difficult.
