Hurricane Irma

if u are in Florida, and u have not prepared for this catastrophic event, u should start soon. regardless of it hitting dead on or to the side, it will be devastating. it's stronger and bigger than Andrew ever was. if anyone remembers hurricane Andrew, u remember the devastation left behind. yes, the news like to hype it up, don't listen to UR local news , download the weather channel app. they have direct contact with national hurricane center and only post accurate updates. have cars gassed up. make sure to put all important documents somewhere safe(er) than usual. if u evacuate, load up UR car with important stuff, not 30 different outfits to wear. if UR staying home, put up shutters, have water, batteries, flash lights, an am/fm batery operated radio, canned goods to last a week, charge all ur electronic devices. if u have spare phone batteries, charge them and have them ready to use. if u can't find water, buy a faucet purifier. the electric has gone for weeks at a time, but water has never shut off, even with Andrew. make sure UR kids, especially toddlers, don't get out the house during the storm. do laundry especially for kids and babies, to last a few days worth. and lastly, have a knife, gun, pepper spray, bat, etc available. people are acting like idiots. in Broward county , people have gotten into fist fits over a case of water. several homes have been broken into, to steal WATER and canned, goods. this is getting crazy. take care of urselfs and ur little ones. if ur been told to evacuate, don't hesitate. grab all ur important documents, pictures, a set of clothes for each family member, and go to a designated shelter.
