can I ask to see his phone?

So I'm just wondering if it's ok to ask my boyfriend of 5 months if I can see his phone? I don't want to sneak around I just want to ask him. I don't think he's necessarily cheating but I think he's talking to other people. So is it okay to be straight up with him and tell him I don't want to sneak around that I just want to look at his phone?

my hubby and I literally just know how to unlock each other's phones and I feel no need to look through it.  He never hides his screen from me or anything and he uses an app on my phone to play music in the car while I'm driving but he never looks through anything and if he did he'd see nothing I didn't want him to see. that's trust.  So I guess my point is,  do you not trust him?

My husband and I have each other's pass codes to our phones and know that we can look at one another's whenever. There's nothing wrong with asking him. It's a lot better than being sneaky about it. Talk to him and tell him why you think you need to look.

I asked my bf if he was talking to other girls and he lied and told me no. So I asked if I could look at his phone and he said he has nothing to hide so I looked and he was. I asked him why he lied and he told me it was cause he didn't want me upset and that it was more like a hi how are you what's up type of conversation. I told him I didn't like being lied to. And I know he told them about me and our relationship but still.
