Furniture Questions

Hubs and I are moving into a new apartment in October and we've been lightly looking into furniture. We recently purchased a new tv for the living area but are stumped on the couch/seating situation. He is dead set on buying a leather sectional, which im fine with so long as we can fit it through the entry door.

My question to you is in terms of cleaning & maintenance, is there a specific type that lasts longer than others? I've heard Suede was really stain resistant and pretty decent usually for price but I'm kinda going in blind here. Any personal favs out there?
