Labor after cervix check?

Ma

At my last appointment my doctor mentioned that she'll be checking my cervix for dilation at my next appointment. My husband has come with me to every single appointment so far, but next week he can't come because he has a huge meeting with a big client that he can't reschedule. Normally, I would feel fine going alone, and I've told him a million times he doesn't need to come to all of my boring appointments, but this time I'm actually a little worried!

My question is, have any of you gone into labor immediately following your cervix exam (within 30 minutes or less). I'm not talking about a membrane sweep, just a simple exam to check for dilation.

All of my close friends will be at work, and my parents and in-laws all live several hours away, so I'll be driving myself. I'll be 38w5d at the appointment.
