Period confusion

So 6 days past ovulation I had some brown discharge with I spot of bright red blood. This brown discharge lasted about 2 1/2 days and was very light. We were trying so figured it was implantation bleeding. Than some days later I was supposed to get my period which never came. About a week later I was woken up by sharp abdominal pains, they passed about 3 or 4 hours later. From the time of my missed period until present I have taken pregnancy tests which have all been negative. Today put me a day late on my 2 period but I did get it but now the blood is a funny color, brown and dark red which I have never seen before. Any advice on what might be happening here. Thanks.
