Spotting because of being sick?

Has anyone experienced spotting due to illness? I am 9dpo right now and started spotting mid last week (5 dpo) super duper light but as I've gotten sicker (have a cold) the spotting has gotten heavier (still not heavy but more than what it was a few days ago). At first I was pumped thinking maybe it was implantation bleeding but now just wonder if it's because I'm sick and maybe I'll get my period early (due on Fri). Curious if anyone has any thoughts on or experience with this?
