If your child's father was remarried or dating, would you be okay with his woman calling herself your child's mom and your child calling her 'mom'?

I would like to think I'd be okay with it as long as she's good to my child and does motherly things for her, has been around for at least a bit, and isn't likely to be separating from my child's father anytime soon. My super pregnant hormones have me feeling otherwise but on a regular day I'm okay with it 😂 If my husband and I ever split I'd want us to co parent well together anyway and that seems like it would just be a part of it once we met other people. What about you? And do you co parent already?

When I first got divorced I never thought I'd be ok with my kid calling someone else mom or dad- but 4 years later I feel differently. If someone loves my kid as their own and devotes time and makes sacrifices as a parent would- I would be fine with it. And if that's what my kid is comfortable calling them.

That's up to the child whether or not to call the step-parent mom/dad. I chose to call my step dad, dad, while some of my siblings call him Thomas.

my mom and dad were never together . my mom married my stepdad when i was 4 . when i was little i just always called my step dad "brian" i guess , i don't remember . but now that i'm 20 years old and it feels like my step dad has been with me all my life and has played a bigger part in raising me than my biological father has (bc i live with him , not bc my bio dad is a dead beat) i've started calling my step dad just "dad" . i still call him by his name , but when i'm talking about him to other people i'll be like "yeah me and my dad did this" and people used to ask me "which one" but now they don't because it's always my step dad . so basically , a lot of time has to be put in for your bb dd's new girl to earn the title of mom .

If I were ever in this situation I'd like to think I'd be okay with it as long as the women was good to my child. If you're both adults and made the decision to split, then realistically you'll both get remarried and so your kid will just have 2 sets of parents. Better to all be friends and work together on raising your child instead of letting them see you all not get along. It takes a village, and it sounds like your kid will have a good one 😊

Everyone's situation is different. People will tell you never in a million years and other will say that's fine because maybe the woman was there since earlier on. My "dad" is actually my step dad but has been in my life since I was 1. I mean I didn't have my biological father so there's that difference but I'm using it as an example. Babies/young kids don't really understand a great deal of situations with split parents and as long as the other woman is being a good secondary mother to my child when she has him/her, then she can be called whatever he prefers to call her.

I wouldn't mind my child calling him/her "step mom/dad" or acknowledging them by there first name followed with a "Mrs/Mr". But calling them MOM or DAD no I'm not okay with that, because I'm Mommy that's my baby nobody else birthed her/him but me.

I am with someone who we both have an older child. we do not refer to ourselves as mom or dad to the opposite spouseschild. however we do not discourage it either.
my daughters dad is passed away and I was young so through a series of events my mom adopted her and I coparent with her. my daughter does not call my fiance dad but she is 6 and its only been a couple years.
my fiance has a 5 year old and he does not call me mom. I'm not sure how his mom would feel if he did down the road.
Now, my daughter calls my mother mommy and me "little mommy". 
As a kid I called my stepdad Daddy Tim and my father just dad.
I honestly believe everyone will have FEELINGS of jealousy and maybe feel hurt but what you do with those feelings is what makes a difference for everyone.
