TDap vaccine???

Does anyone know if you have to get the TDap vaccine more than once if you are not pregnant? My grandmother got one for my cousin when he was born about 8 years ago, and now my baby is coming soon and was wondering if she needs to get another

my dr told me anyone who hasn't been vaccinated within 2 years of getting one should get it done

I was told every 10 years without incident, but every 5 years with incident (e.g. stepped on a rusty nail, infected wound, bitten, etc.). This is what the CDC recommends as well unless pregnant so you can pass immunity to the baby.

The vaccine itself has a booster that should be done every 10 years. Like the other commenter said, it's recommended if they're around baby to be done more frequently.

My OB said since I can not get the vaccine everyone had to get it if they haven't gotten it in the past year. I'm allergic so I can't provide her with the extra protection.
