Black dress for baby shower?

I'm having a girl and our shower is all pink and gold. I found a nice black dress I thought I could wear for the shower but my friend throwing it as well as my mom think that black isn't something you wear for a shower. They think it should be pink or white or at least have some color. What are yalls opinions on it? I just want to wear it bc I won't have to buy another one which I'm having a hard time finding.. but I didn't think there was that much negativity behind it

I think it looks good and I personally think that if you want to wear it you should. You can always add color with shoes, jewelry, etc.

Firstly - wear what you want. 
Secondly, as a photographers wife, black doesn't photograph well in terms of showcasing you to 'all of your bump glory'.
But it depends how much the photos mean to you 🤷🏻‍♀️
They're super important to me so I personally don't wear black when I know I want a bump pic.

I think it looks amazing and if it's comfortable you should wear it if you are concerned about it not having enough colour add a pink bow to it or use colourful accessories, just because it's a baby shower doesn't mean you have to wear a pink or white dress you can wear whatever you feel beautiful in
