I've been on lo loestrin fe for a little over a year now and my last period (Day 1 was 9/4) was suuuuuper strange.

I had been having a ton of brown discharge and cramping a few days before even starting my period, and when it did start, it was a whole week before my 'scheduled' period days in my pill pack. All of those things are very unusual for me. Even before birth control I never used to get cramps or irregular periods. I take my pill religiously every single day at the same time so I'm confident it couldn't be that. Also no chance of being pregnant.

My previous periods on this birth control were always strange, meaning they were always fairly light but with no fresh blood. It was really just very clumpy brown blood. Almost to the point where using a tampon was practically useless; it wouldn't soak anything up, just kinda acted as a plug. 😬

Is it time to give my doctor a call? Are these symptoms common with low dose birth control like lo loestrin fe?
