skipping periods = no period??

I've been using the pill to skip my period for about 6 months (meaning taking it nonstop) and now I've stopped taking it 4 days ago and still haven't got a period.. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it possible I have just skipped it too much and it just hasn't come yet or should I be getting a pregnancy test??? Help
