College girl needing advice

OK so I am a full-time college student in my first year and I am going crazy. I am almost 3 hours away from my boyfriend whom I love dearly and would do anything for him. I don't know what I'd ever do without him and we thought about me moving in with him and taking my classes online. I was going for a four year degree but I'm not gonna be able to stand the separation. Do you think I'm doing the right thing? I know he's the one for me I just wanted to hear other peoples opinions beside my parents. They love the idea because they think they're getting grandkids sooner than what we decided. I know it's crazy and usually guys get the rings but I am thinking about getting him a promise ring.
